Artist's Comments

Quite recently I had been trying to get a portfolio together for a course in 'Games Art & Design' university and didn't have a lot of material, considering I took a non-artistic path in school. So when I was drawing up some newer pictures I decided to go redraw one of my personal favourite characters, Mark Jerry the Crystal Dreamer. It's been a good year at least since I last drawn him in such a presentable way, at least to add colour to him anyway.

I can see a little inconsistency with my line-weighting, particularly in the outer edges of his jacket-arms. Plus without detail or shading his shoes look reeeally strange compared to the rest of the body, shoes at an angle really get me. I tried using practical ways of using gradients without making them look cheap and nasty, I did so for the eyes and for his crystal stone up there.

Also he is currently unshaded (minus his crystal), so maybe I'll go shade him properly sometime after I've finished my college assignments, tweak things here and there.

Critique Preference

This deviation's preference is CRITIQUE ENCOURAGED. Please at least try to explain why you like/didn't like certain parts of the picture, I loathe one-liner 'praise' comments as much as destructive critique. Constructive critique is accepted and I will not fight or bite your head off for pointing out a flaw.
